While we can't imagine our lives without the washing machine it is very important to clean it from time to time. That will not only make your washing always smell fresh but will also extend the life of the washing machine. Below you will find some tips on how to clean your washing machine. Things you’ll need:

  • Chlorine bleach
  • Anti-bacterial cleaner for exterior

 Now follow those simple steps:

  • Set the washing machine at the highest temperature possible. We would recommend at least 90 degrees and for the longest cycle.
  • Pour approximately 60ml of bleach into your detergent drawer and start the cycle.
  • Once the cycle is finished turn on an additional rinse cycle to make sure all the bleach has been rinsed out.

If you, for any reason, don’t like bleach to be used you can substitute it with baking soda. However, we truly believe that bleach can kill more bacterias than baking soda. If after a cycle with bleach you think that the drum still smells bleach you can pour the detergent in and run another rinse cycle.

After this, your washing machine will be free from bacterias and will smell fresh.

How often should you clean your washing machine? It purely depends on how often you use it. If you use it once/twice a week you should clean it every 3 months. If you use it more often clean should be performed once a month. You can add it on your regular cleaning task list.

Good luck!
